Nancy Wu and Selena Li Do Not Admit to “Wife of Ma Ming”: New and Old Love Enemies Meet Up

June 3rd, 2010 by Lizzy

There were rumours saying that Kenneth Ma (Ma Ming) and Nancy Wu’s relationship ended, and that he and Selena Li developed love sparks from filming series together. Yesterday, both ‘Wives of Ma Ming’ attended a soccer event. The organizers arranged a cardboard cutout of Kenneth playing soccer for them to take a picture with, causing them to be unable to hold their laughter.

When Selena heard the term ‘New and Old Wife of Ma Ming’, she immediately denied so, and said, while looking at Nancy, “I’m not! Are you?” Nancy awkwardly laughed, “I don’t know. There were just reports saying so. It’s already in the past”. Selena frankly said that when her rumours with Kenneth surfaced, she was not in Hong Kong. She only knew about the rumours after she returned to Hong Kong, causing her to be very confused.

Nancy Wu Treats It as Promotion for Series
When asked if they would fall for the same guy, Selena said, “I don’t think so. I don’t like to fight over a guy. I think it would be very annoying, so I would rather not have [him]“. Nancy then said, “In general, we don’t like the same things”. As for the organizers bringing up their rumours during the event, Nancy expressed that she was told beforehand that this topic would be touched upon. She said, “Actually, there were already many reports during filming. Also, Kenneth plays a player in the current series ‘The Mysteries of Love’. I’ll just treat it as promotion for the series.

It was pointed out that if Selena hadn’t broken up with Patrick Tang, it would be a love square. Selena awkwardly said, “It’s not related”. Nancy thinks that rumours are simply an after-dinner topic, as she and Kenneth are good friends. When asked if they are friends after separation, Nancy just repeated herself and said that they are good friends. Selena expressed that she is not thinking about love matters right now. She is just leaving it up to fate.

Selena Li sighs that artists don’t have freedom

March 6th, 2010 by Lizzy

Since entering in the entertainment industry, TVB fadan Selena Li felt that being an artist the most tragic thing is that she doesn’t have any privacy at all. Even when she goes dating she has to consider her image, holding hands is not allowed too, which makes no sense.
Although an artist may appear to be impressive, but behind their face they have to endure bitterness, which cannot be shown to outsiders. Selena, who entered the entertainment industry in 2003, frankly said that the most tragic thing of being an artist is not having freedom at all. Even when dating or other simple things they have to be furtively, it’s seriously “not easy to be an artist”.
Selena felt that the most bitter thing of artists is to sacrifice their private life: “For example dating, we cannot hold hands, cannot walk on the streets. Even when we go dating, we have to consider the surroundings all the time, we have to keep our eyes open for paparazzi. In public places I have to keep reminding myself every moment that I cannot have too much movements and expressions. The worst thing is when I go out with friends or family, we’ll be photographed and then written false things about us. This affects my family and friends, it feels like getting people around me into trouble.”

Being an artist you will not have to sacrifice your private life only, Selena felt that there are too few breaks as well, which is another bitterness of an artist, she said: “Actually I’m a sleepyhead, but being an artist we have to work at an irregular timing, moreover our filming is in a hurry, I often have to overwork at night, sometimes I finish working at midnight but a few hours later I have to start working again. After returning home to shower I’ll have to return for work, I’m not able to sleep at all, my skin became worse!”
