Little History

The site was officially established on October 23, 2006 by Lizzy, a Selena fan. The site was firstly hosted on Pink Sugar (pink-sugar.net), but not long after that I changed to another host; Charmed Foreva (charmedforeva.com). From October till April 2007 the Selena Fansite was hosted there. But on April 12th, Charmed Foreva got hacked and I lost my whole gallery (1000+ pictures) and all the newsarticles in the newsroom.
I wasn’t able to find a new host untill June that year, Tea from Fanlounge (fanlounge.org) accepted me. I changed the site’s name into Selena Fansource and made a new layout for a new fresh start!!
In may 2008, I participated in the win-a-free-domain competition organized by Miss Chic. Voting started in April till June and luckily I was one of the two winners! The domain name is selena-li.net.
Then end July 2008, something bad happened again!! Dreamhost (the hosting company) disabled Tea’s account, due to violation of terms. And so I lost my files again ~ this time is the worst! I lost over the 50.000 pictures and my updates from over the 100 articles! I have been thinking long time and I even wanted to give up the site, but I finally decided to go on.
On September 28th, I re-opened the site, hosted on TkN’s TkN Portrait (tkn-portrait.net). But the domain was still linked to the old host and I am not able to contact the host to change. I’ve been hosted here for almost 1.5 year and I’m very satisfied, I believe that it’s the best host I have so far.
As of, September 2009, this time nothing is wrong with my nice host, just that I want to have a domain and more control of my own site, so I have applied for hosting at a popular fansite hosting site Starszz (starszz.com), they accepted me and I got my own long-cherished domain selena-li.com.
In December 2009, Selena Fansource became the Official Website and has upgraded from a plain HTML/CSS site to a WordPress blogging site. All postings have been translated to Chinese too, so that HK fans and all Chinese speaking fans all over the world will be able to read the website.
